Haha well the lyrics used for my title this week definitely don't have much to do with what we did this week, but I LOVE MY MOM. You might be like, well duh. But for real, I love her. I missed her a lot this week and was very grateful to get an extra call home for Mother's Day. My mama is one of a kind and I am blessed to have been given such a good one. I really have felt that as I have been on my mission. So many people come from such rough backgrounds with really sad childhood experiences. I never again will take for granted the way I was raised. Anyway... not gonna lie, in the moment this week was so long and kinda rough. We had so many nights where just no one answered. But, of course God blessed us with many miracles because of it! And now, looking back, I can't believe it has been a week already! Things truly do fly in the Lord's work! We had an AMAZING lesson with Kathy the other day. She is the one I mentioned last week who finally let us into her home. Anyway, she is doing so well. When I first got here, she wasn't responding to any of the sisters' calls, but by my third week she called out of the blue wanting to have lessons again. And ever since, she has just been changing so rapidly. Our lesson with her was completely spirit-guided. I truly felt that what I was saying wasn't coming from me. Sister Clayton was sneakily asking her the baptism interview questions and the spirit just kept building and building up each time Kathy bore her testimony of what she knows to be true. Then, at the peak of it, Sister Clayton said "Kathy, did you know you just answered everything you have to know in order to be baptized." Woah, it was a powerful moment. And that's when I felt powerfully overtaken in the best possible way. I love Kathy so much, and because of that I wasn't afraid to be bold. I told Kathy she was ready to be baptized, and that I see the change in her. I honestly got a little emotional, because in that moment, I was overwhelmed with the feeling of how much God loves her. I told her how proud I was of her, and that satan was going to do everything he could to take away her ability to be baptized, but I told her to not dare let him. Well, by the end of the call Kathy was feeling more ready and we set a tentative date for June 26th!! So I'm praying I get to stay here another transfer because seeing that would be so beautiful. It is incredible how following Christ brings physical changes. Kathy looks brighter, happier, and even healthier. Please keep her in your prayers as satan really attacks those close to making promise with God! We got to help the Rayas plant their garden this week!! It was super fun, and Sister Raya made us this DELISH soup for lunch that had Mexican squash in it. It was a very happy afternoon, haha. I love me some sunshine!! Then that night we had dinner with Sister Johnson, so basically I just got to be with so many people I adore. Not much else to report this week, it was pretty average. But hey, that's ok. Sometimes there just aren't that many exciting things, but that doesn't mean the week was a bust! Just that more miracles are coming to you next week ;) Also, omg guys creme brulee (I've forgotten how to spell sooo hopefully that's right) is so freaking delicious. Sister Alton made it for dessert last night and I wanted to die. How have I never had it before???? Did I have seconds... yes. Because when am I ever going to get that again?! Wow. Anyway, I'm sure you really enjoyed reading an entire paragraph about dessert. But I was really grateful to Sister Alton for letting us crash her Mother's Day dinner because we just needed to have some company on a day we would usually get to be with our families. I've been a missionary for 3 months today! I'm honestly shocked. There have definitely been moments where I never thought I would get to this point. But it truly does go by fast, so its important not to waste it! I'm so happy to be here and so thankful for the people I've met. To quote one of our friends we teach named Chris, "like I always say, God is good!" There couldn't be a more true statement. I hope this week you can see how good God is. And if you are having a rough go at life, just know that He still loves you, and He still pleads for you to talk with him. Prayer is your best friend. As our mission president always says, "go to bed and sleep like babies because it's all in the Lord's hands anyway." Give it all to him in prayer and sleep like a baby (well, at least like some babies. Kekeli was an EXCELLENT sleeper. So sleep like him.) Don't forget that Jesus loves you, Sister Wallace Just a heads up- our pday is being moved to Friday next week, so it will be a minute before you hear from me again. Elder Alliaud (from our church leadership) is touring our mission, so we need to be teaching next Monday!! P.s. email me!!! lacey.wallace@missionary.org Pics: 1. Our dinos!! I named mine Thomas, hehe. The sisters got them for us in El Paso! 2. Free baby frosty's!! 3. Love wearing service clothes and being with my cute comp 4. My cutie parents and Kekeli!
