"Hope when you take that jump, you don't fear the fall"

My thoughts for this week are pretty scattered, which makes sense since my brain is pretty scattered in general. Here are some gems from church, people are wise:

-This is an unchanging gospel in an ever-changing world

-Spend an hour today improving and reap the reward of that improvement for years to come

-I'm a work in progress

-You level up quicker when you do things that scare you

This week, I finished the Book of Mormon again. This time around, I decided to study with a question in mind. This earth-shattering, life changing question was...

"What is the purpose of life?"

I know, a novel thought. But, I wanted to put to the test what I tell people every single day, that the Book of Mormon answers any questions you could possibly have. Here are some answers:

1. Learn to turn away bad influences

2. Repent

3. Be obedient and endure

4. Look for happiness

5. Inquire of the Lord

6. Trust God

7. Prepare to meet God

8. Share the gospel

9. Let your afflictions humble you

10. Develop your faith & build your testimony

As I kept reading, searching for the answer to this question, I realized my search eventually became "what is the purpose of MY life." I love how the Book of Mormon has become so personal to me. The Book of Mormon testifies of Christ, and since he is such a personal savior, it makes sense that his book would be a personal book.

Here are some of the purposes of my life I found in the Book of Mormon:

1. Come unto Jesus

2. Lay up treasures in heaven

3. Do good

4. Remember

5. Sacrifice and work hard for the Lord

6. FEAR NOT.

FEAR NOT

This one feels especially applicable to my life now as in about two weeks I prepare to come home. While there's a lot that scares me about the future, with Jesus I don't need to fear. He's got me. "Fear not" has been the theme of my month (as you can probably tell from my last few emails) so it made me happy to discover that theme in the Book of Mormon.

To some of you who may not have this connection with the Book of Mormon or have never read it, it may be confusing to think that it could have such an effect on a person. But I promise you, as you put your faith into action and just read from it, your life will be blessed in ways you could have never imagined for yourself.

Heavenly Father has given us all the tools we need to live a happy life. I'm in awe of his love every day. If you're sad today, I want to remind you that the struggles and tests of life are temporary, and the joy we will feel when Jesus comes again will be worth all the hardships of life. You've got this. People are cheering you on and God has your back.

Don't forget that Jesus loves you,

Sister Wallace

p.s. If any of you have continued to read my emails my whole mission, wow, you are really brave. I made a goal at the beginning of my mission having to do with reading the Book of Mormon. I've now accomplished that goal.

Also now that my time as a missionary is almost over, I'd love to hear from a few of you!!! Tell me about life and what Jesus has done for you.

My Dearest Sister Wallace,

"And now [that] the end is near"...I have stayed quiet, reading each and every one of your most excellent letters through your mission, mostly because I knew the very strong support group that you already have in place, and also because your letters actually always said it all! haha. However, now that you are so close to finishing this chapter in your book of life, and preparing to move into the next, I feel compelled to say just a few things. Also, I do not expect you to get the opening song reference, it's a Frank Sinatra tune, but it just came to mind that your clever letter titles from song lyrics should also be answe…
