Don't worry guys, my tan is slowly returning and I got Chiptole this week ,and I didn't even have to pay for it!
Also, apparently tonsil stones are a thing? I will not attach a picture of what my tonsil looked like this morning... but I'm powering through because the work doesn't stop. lol check the title. Thanks Adele.
This was honestly a pretty typical week for us ... ups and downs, miracles and ordinary experiences, rejections and people prepared to hear the gospel.
It was a wonderfully ordinary week, but because of that, I don't have many major experiences or life lessons to report.
This year, as a church, we've been studying the Old Testament and wow. Who knew I could actually love it! Of course, we aren't in Leviticus yet, so I guess I should say that with caution. haha. I've been reading it in this giant study guide book with tons of commentary and I'm learning so much. But, most importantly, I'm learning that you can find Jesus anywhere if you're looking for him.
This week I've especially been amazed by the story of the children of Israel and Moses. The Lord sent 10 plagues to Egypt. Why? Why would a loving God send plagues to those he loves? Well after some thought and reading the thoughts of others, I learned that those 10 plagues, in fact, were a sign of God's love.
The only way the Lord could deliver Israel was by afflicting the suppressors.
But ok then, so why 10? Why not just one plague? Surely that would've been a lot more merciful to the people of Egypt. The crazy thing is those 10 plagues were giving the head guy, Pharoah, a chance to change! The Lord gave this guy so many chances to just
"let [His] people go!"
But, unfortunately, Pharoah just never listened.
So in an ultimate act of deliverance and love, the Lord, through Moses, parted the Red Sea and the children of Israel escaped Egypt on dry ground.
Jesus really is a God who delivers. What bondage are you being faced with in your life? What deliverance do you need? Are you still waiting on the Lord?
Imagine how the children of Israel felt. For decades they were enslaved by the Egyptians, working day after day, year after year. At times, they probably gave up hope. They probably feared that the Lord had abandoned them.
In the end, the Lord always delivers.
As we come up on Easter, I reflect on the Lord's deliverance in my own life. My pains and sorrows may not be as large as those of the children of Israel, but the Lord still has brought deliverance to my life. In times where I felt no peace, the lord delivered. In times where I saw no hope, the Lord delivered. In times where I didn't understand his plan for me, the Lord delivered.
I know the Lord will deliver you, too. So just keep going, no matter how hard it gets. He loves you and is aware of your circumstances. I know that in the throes of life's challenges, hope of deliverance may not seem possible, but I promise that in the end, all that is unfair about life will be made right through Jesus Christ. I know he lived and died and lives again.
and he did that just for you. Happy Easter!
Well here we are, beginning with a tan and chipotle bowls and ending with Jesus. sounds like a typical Lacey letter. If you read this whole thing, then maybe this was meant just for you.
