"I will trust, I will trust, in you"

This week was incredible. We literally walked into miracles. I've been so happy to be a missionary and to see just simple goodness in this world.

On Saturday, we went on exchanges, so it was my first time being alone in my new area (exchanges = sister Larson and I trading companions for the day with another set of sister missionaries). I was honestly super stressed . We have had so much going on, and I didn't want to mess anything up. Sister Larson helped me preplan a super good day so I wouldn't be too stressed, haha. But of course, plans always seem to change. We had three houses we planned to stop by that evening, and no one answered. So we had probably 2 hours to fill. I had the random thought to stop by this guy's apartment who we started teaching last week. I thought it was kind of a random thought, but this week I ignored too many promptings from the spirit, so I decided to take it as that's where God needed us to be, and we went.

As we were walking up, I saw this lady up above outside smoking. I whispered to my comp for the day, Sister Kinikini, that maybe she was the real reason we needed to be there. Well, the spirit knows best. We start talking with her, and she cried to us about how much she needed God and how she has just been so discouraged with the state of the world. We started talking about the gospel and everything just flowed so naturally. Then her boyfriend came outside and he totally knew what the Book of Mormon was and believed in the great apostasy (that God's power was taken from the earth when Christ and his apostles were killed). They just seemed completely placed there for us (or perhaps we were placed there for them).

When we left, we went to knock on Albert's door, and I realized we were on the completely wrong side of the complex. Then Albert ended up not even being home. It's crazy how the spirit can guide us to places for reasons unknown to us.

Then sister Larson and I had another miracle day yesterday (Sunday).

After church, I was super hungry due to poor planning. So like trying to listen to the spirit wasn't gonna happen. I was starving and could think of nothing else! But Sister Larson had an impression to go visit this lady, so we went. (As we drove in to her complex, I saw these people out of the corner of my eye and had a similar thought as the night before that maybe they were why we were really there). So we knocked on the lady's door, no answered, then, of course, we stopped to take a cute pic. Once again, God had perfect timing. We naturally ran into this guy and the gospel naturally came up. He was so prepared to hear us. He even said that he knows whenever he meets anyone in his life, that it isn't a coincidence. The spirit was so strong and me and my comp just taught in such a unified way. He was so interested in what we had to say, and was actually paying attention to our message. When we left, Sister Larson said "was that even real? like I swear that was a staged person to test our teaching skills." But nope, it actually happened.

Later that night, we went to this apartment complex to visit Angie, a cutie we are teaching who hasn't been answering our texts. Then, once again, the most perfect thing occurred. We happened to be casually walking by right at a time when Angie was outside. We had the most spirit-filled lesson ever. You can just feel how much God loves this woman. I can tell he has been preparing her to accept the gospel. After we left Angie's, we were walking past this door and a kid about stuck his head out the door and Sister Larson said, "hi! How are you?" He was so taken back and just was like "ok..." and shut the door. So we walked away laughing and thinking nothing of it. Then all of a sudden, we heard footsteps and a kid's voice saying "hey, who are you guys?" He started asking all these questions about who we are and why we were there, and then goes "wait, my mom is a christian, maybe she will want to talk to you." So we started walking to their apartment with the kid. Unfortunately, she was tired, but she said we could come back! This kid honestly just seemed pulled to know more about us and our purpose.

My point in sharing these stories is to share that God is in the details. So many little things lined up perfectly in all these stories. If we were minutes off, they wouldn't have happened. God is incredibly aware of each of His children, and when we, as sharers of the gospel, are in a place to listen to the spirit, He will perform miracles. We don't make miracles happen, but as we work hard, God blesses us immensely. On my mission, I have felt the Lord pushing me harder and harder. He has been aware of how much I can handle at each point in time, and I feel humbled to know he is trusting me right now in this position. We are at a place in our area with so many precious souls prepared and willing to change, and I'm just doing my very best to help these people and nurture them in the best possible way. All we can do is love. It brings me comfort to know that is what the Lord asks of me - Just my best and my love for His children. This work is great, and Jesus Christ is in charge. I love Him and I want to do all I can to make Him proud. I'm learning that I need to trust the Lord always (Thanks Lauren Daigle for your song lyric "I will trust in you" for my title this week). He will do His work through me.

God is good!

don't forget that Jesus loves you,

Sister Wallace
