"I'm being pulled in a new direction"

Haha we literally pulled weeds everyday this week except Saturday and Sunday. So basically, I think I'm gonna go home and pull weeds for a living.

(If you aren't a theatre/musical nerd, you probably won't understand the title of this week's letter, lol. But it's a good song from the Addams Family musical so you should look it up.)

This week, Trinity was soooo worried about us being out in the sun and just kept asking us if we wanted hats. "We have these genuine straw hats that will just keep the sun right off your face. Are you sure you don't want a hat???" Hermana Babcock finally relented and so Trinity comes out with these obnoxious straw hats and pushes them right on our heads. We looked pretty cute as you can see in our picture down below.

We are super good friends with some elders in our apartment complex, Elders Waite and Archibald. We hang out a lot. We were doing service the other day and Elder Waite decided to lay in the weeds to take a before and after pic. These guys crack me up. We've been trying to have an ice cream party all week and finally did today. Good times on the mish. Elder Archibald goes home soon and we are so sad. They're like a golden companionship.

I complimented Bro Senior's camo baseball cap while pulling weeds and he said "you want one? I'll give you one cause you're nice." He was spraying weed killer like crazyyyy and called us later that day to let us know it was working. So cute. He said we are his favorite girls besides his wife and granddaughter, of course. That night we went back for a lesson and as we were trying to like feel the spirit, their cat starts pawing at Babcock's bag. Well, Bro Senior has no idea what that cat's name is, but he HATES her. So with the most stoic, angry face that man can muster, he starts yelling "cat, cat, CAT." It was game over from there. We could not stop laughing. (You had to be there). We keep trying to tell the story and we like crack up dying and everyone just looks at us like we are crazy.

This week we had a few fun adventures. We were driving home from oym-ing ("open your mouth-ing") at the park and we see this car with a "Jesus loves me" sticker. We pull up next to them at the stop light and Babcock says we should give them our number. So I legit am leaning out the find yelling "hey!! Jesus loves me too! So true!" And manage to hand them our card and a pamphlet. We may or may not have run a veryyyy yellow light because we missed it turning green. But hey, when the spirit prompts, lol. We also got barked at by dogs and awkwardly still stood there wayyy too long, trying to talk to the guy. "We're miss *bark* ionaries for the Ch *bark* urch of Je *bark* sus Christ." It was so awkward. I think I have more embarrassing moments as a missionary than I've had my entire life. But it's all good.

Anyway, sorry for a kind of a boring letter. But I promise this week actually was good!! It was a happy week full of laughs and fun surprises and tender mercies. I feel blessed to be here and love this place more than I thought I would. The people are so kind and the most unique I've ever met in my entire life. Haha. We ate dinner with the Paynes (my fav people) and that is always a fun time. We legit waited at Panda Express for 40 minutes to get our food (this just shows you what slim pickings we have) and Bro Payne of course oym'd the lady behind us, beginning with "habla español?"

Life is good. The mission always has its challenges, but I'm happy to be here!!
