If you can figure out what song my title is from, then you are a true "swifty" (and if you're not, well thanks to Taylor Swift for this week's song lyric title) First off, I want your Christmas cards!!! I've received a couple and I LOVE them!! 6800 Vista Del Norte NE #916 Albuquerque, NM 87113 I could bore you with the minute details of my normal missionary life this week- the long meetings, rushing to make a baptism program for elders, having a cool chapel tour turn out unexpectedly, my Chick Fil A peppermint milkshake, laughing my head off at my comp, and then being stuck in quarantine because of being exposed to covid- but why do that when I could just talk about Jesus. There are 24 days of December before Christmas, and 24 chapters of Luke. So every day, I'm reading a chapter of Luke. I love the first few books of the Bible because they are 100% focused on the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. But there's just something about Luke. Nothing brings the spirit more than remembering Jesus Christ and all he has done for us. In Luke 1, the angel appears to tell Mary that she will bear a son. But not just any son, the Son of the Highest. "... and shalt call his name JESUS." I imagine how Mary must have felt - inadequate, scared, and possibly wondering how on earth it would be possible. But to dispel any of Mary's fears or concerns or doubts, the angel tells her: "For with God nothing shall be impossible." And with just those 7 words, Mary recognizes the angel as a servant of the Lord, and basically says "thy will be done." Sound familiar? When Jesus was in the Garden of Gethsemane, feeling every pain, sorrow, sadness, illness, or affliction you've ever felt, he told the father: "thy will be done." just for you. Just like Mary, and just like Jesus, we too can say "thy will be done." But wow, can we talk about how hard that is? On my mission I've felt incredibly inadequate, but somehow, I have had the faith to accept that "with God nothing shall be impossible." Even when I'm thrown into a million different quarantines, or want to hug my mama and kiss Kekeli, or have to put up with companions I didn't understand why I was with, or had to leave areas and people behind who I cherished, ultimately God's will trumps all. Of course, I still make my own choices and try my best to direct my life, but I've found in my short life already, that I'm much happier when I mesh my will with God's will. "thy will be done." Jesus really did come. That little baby was born in the most humble of circumstances, to a humble mother, who could help her son, the son of God, grow to be able to sacrifice everything just for us. I'm so grateful for him, and am filled with joy to have this special time to remember him. He has done everything for me. The least I can do is serve him and follow him and love his people. Don't forget that Jesus loves you, Sister Wallace pics 1. went on a fun hike today (Monday) since we couldn't see people lol 2. my friend Victor from Los Lunas got baptized and I got to go!!! 3. zone leadership partay 4.
